Since his daughter Xiaomi was born in 2015, Changsha resident Wang Qijun has been documenting her growth with brushes. Over the past decade, drawing inspiration from daily life scenes, he has created more than 100 vivid and lively cartoon strips and oil paintings, capturing ordinary yet precious moments like his daughter’s first tooth loss, first day of school, and first attempt at cooking. After a decade of perseverance, he has crafted a precious "time archive" of his daughter’s childhood.
As an art teacher who owns his own art gallery, Wang Qijun's works not only capture his daughter’s growth journey with vivid brushstrokes, imbued with emotional warmth, but also serve as a bond for family interaction, garnering widespread praise from family and friends. He stated that he will continue his creative journey, planning to sort through the paintings to hold a special exhibition and compile them into a book in the future—allowing this unique testament to paternal love to touch more people.
